THE ART OF PERFECTION
David Fermani
Automotive Surface Preservation Specialist
David Fermani is widely regarded as one of the most influential and accomplished automotive detailers in the world. With more than 35 years dedicated to the art and science of automotive surface care, David has built a reputation for precision, innovation, and an uncompromising commitment to craftsmanship. His expertise has been trusted on some of the world’s rarest, most valuable, and most significant automobiles. From legendary Porsches and RUFs to Ferraris, Bugattis, AMG Mercedes and other exceptional collector cars, David’s work has taken him into the collections of some of the world’s most discerning enthusiasts and collectors.
Today, David’s work encompasses far more than traditional detailing. His focus is on surface preservation—understanding how to properly refine, protect, and maintain an automobile’s finishes so they can look their best while being preserved for the long term.
Whether preparing a newer automobile for a protective coating or caring for a historically significant collector car, the objective is the same: enhance the vehicle without compromising its integrity.

A LEGACY OF PERFECTION
Every detail matters.
Years of working on irreplaceable automobiles have taught David that achieving the best possible result isn’t always about doing more. Sometimes, knowing what not to do is just as important.
Every vehicle is different. Every finish has a history. And every decision should take into account the vehicle’s condition, character, originality, and long-term preservation.
The objective isn’t simply to make a car look better. It is to restore, refine, protect, and preserve it while maintaining the integrity of the automobile.
David was also among the early testers of Meguiar’s DA Microfiber Correction System, helping advance the use of dual-action polishing technology and specialized microfiber pads for paint correction.
For David, innovation has never been about following trends. It has been about testing, learning, refining, and determining what actually works.
INNOVATION THROUGH EXPERIENCE
Long before ceramic coatings became commonplace, David was selected to test early-generation ceramic-coating technology before it was commercially available to professional detailers in the United States. That firsthand experience gave him a unique understanding of how coatings perform over time—not simply how they look when newly applied.
THE WORLD’S MOST SIGNIFICANT AUTOMOBILES
He has had the privilege of working on extraordinarily rare Porsches, including significant GT cars and one-of-a-kind examples, as well as automobiles from RUF, Singer, Gemballa, Ferrari, Bugatti, AMG Mercedes and other marques whose vehicles are considered automotive works of art.
His experience includes caring for and curating multiple eight-figure automobiles, along with some of the most significant Porsche collections in the world. His work has included dozens of cars that have gone on to achieve record-setting results at auction.
When an automobile is rare, historically significant, or irreplaceable, there is no room for shortcuts. Every decision matters—from the products and tools selected to the techniques used to refine and preserve the vehicle.
That level of responsibility has shaped the way David approaches every automobile, regardless of its value or provenance.
MORE THAN DETAILING
He doesn’t believe every car needs the same process, the same products, or the same level of correction. Some vehicles benefit from extensive refinement. Others require restraint. Originality, preservation, and long-term condition are always part of the equation.
